    • Introduction
    • Join us for an exploration of the world of quantum methods! This event promises to reveal innovative strategies that leverage quantum technologies and metaheuristics to tackle complex challenges in original ways.

This is a joint meeting with the Quantum Computing Chair, supported by Michelin, CGI, and BULL. The focus will be on recent advances in metaheuristics, including those influenced by quantum computing.

This joint international event is coordinated by EUME/GT ROQ and the European Working Group on Quantum Computing. Organizers will issue certificates of participation for doctoral schools. As seats are limited, we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

      Welcome to Clermont-Ferrand!

    • Event Description:
    • The organization is managed by EUME and the GDR RO working group led by Mr. Sevaux and Eric Bourreau, along with the EURO working group on quantum computing.
      - Day one is intended for those wishing to discover quantum computing who will be able to create their first quantum program with the help of Bull.
      - R&D Professionals can also attend research presentations.
Event organized by: - Marc Sevaux (Executive committee member of EWG Quantum OR) - Caroline Prodhon (Executive committee member of EWG Quantum OR) - Eric Bourreau (Executive committee member of EWG Quantum OR) - Philippe Lacomme (Executive committee member of EWG Quantum OR) - Gerard Fleury (Executive committee member of Quantum OR) - Bogdan Vulpescu (Clermont Auvergne Physics Laboratory)

    • Invited Speakers - Introduction
      • Damien NICOLAZIC
        Bull
      • Damien Nicolazic is a consultant specializing in quantum computing and qubit technologies. He supports projects in the implementation of use cases, covering the full spectrum from HPC emulation to execution on real QPUs. He joined Bull in early 2023 as a Big Data Engineer before pivoting to quantum computing, leveraging his experience with particle physics at CERN and his expertise in data engineering.
      • - Wesley COELHO
        PASQAL
      • Wesley Coelho is a former ISIMA student and currently works as a Quantum Applications Engineer at PASQAL, where he develops innovative algorithms to extend the scope of PASQAL's quantum computers. His interests mainly cover Quantum Optimization and its associated applications.

      • - Alexey Bochkarev
        RPTU Kaiserslautern.
      • The talk aims to convey certain intuitive understanding of Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA) as a characteristic example of VQAs. We outline parallels with selected metaheuristic approaches by considering QAOA in the spirit of Everett interpretation of quantum mechanics: as a collaboration between "parallel interfering universes" (as stated by D. Deutsch).

      • Mariem Bahri
        PASQAL
      • Mariem Bahri joined Eviden (now Bull) in 2024 as a Quantum Computing Consultant. She contributes to the study and implementation of a wide range of use cases, helping strengthen and expand the company s consulting assets. She has developed expertise across multiple quantum technologies through close collaboration with partners in the French quantum ecosystem..
